         1. The following named Unit is hereby activated at Will 
Rogers Field, Oklahoma, without personnel, & will be atchd to the 46th 
Bomb Gp(L), effective Feb 5, 1943:

         2. The 416th Bomb Gp(L), is hereby asgd to the III Air Support 
Command. 

         3. The CO, of this Unit will comply with provisions of the 
above listed T/O, in the organization of this Unit. Specific auth-
orization of enlisted grades will be published in a separate commun-
ication. 

         4. Personnel replacement will be accomplished in the usual 
manner by submission of the AAF Form 127, Dec 12, 1942 (Personnel 
Status Report). 

         5. These units should be organized as nearly as practicable 
according to the following schedule and will commence training approx-
imately seven (7) days after reaching table of organization strength:

         6. This unit will be equipped in accordance with Table of

         7. Army Air Forces Regulations 15-107, Dec 12, 1942, 15-108, 
Dec 15, 1942, and Technical Order 00-25-3A will be complied with 
immediately. 

         8. a. This Headquarters will submit a report without delay 
to the Adjutant General and the Commanding General, AAF (AFMAG-Pub-
lications Section-20 copies), by letter, giving the following infor-
mation: 
                (1) Unit activated.        (2) Date of activation 
                (3) Source of cadre.       (4) Size of cadre.

Tampa, Fla, and will include confirmation of compliance with par-

SUBJECT :  Commendation. 

TO      :  All members of the 416th Bombard Group (L) 

       1.  Brigadier General McDaniel, commanding our III Air Support 
Command with headquarters at Birmingham, Alabama, has just completed 
an inspection tour of this Group terminating with the formal review 
this morning. 

       2.  Each and everyone of you, through untireing efforts, has 
shown that our Group intends to be second to none in espirit-de-corps,
effeciency and soldierly appearance.  Your living quarters and line 
area are spotless.  Your neatness of dress and attention to duty is ex-
cellent.  You have proved that you are ready to receive our airplanes. 

       3.  On thi swe must be patient, but when we do get airplanes, 
we're going to be the flyingest, Fightinest, soldering, outfit in the 
Army Air Forces. 

       4.  It is said that a command reflects the effeciency of its 
Commander.  If this is true, your excellent work is going to make me 
step to keep up with you.  I can assure you of one thing, that I'm 
in here plugging for you and striving to give you the best of every-
thing.  Keep up the good work!

                Office of the Commanding Officer 

                                        Will Rogers Field, Okla., 
                                        May 15, 1943. 

SUBJECT: Monthly Officers Dance. 

TO     : All Officers, 669th Bombardment Squadron (L), AAB, Will 
         Rogers Field, Oklahoma.  

    1.  The monthly Group Officers' dance will be held Saturday, 
May 22, in the Silver Glade Room (3rd floor) of the Skirvin Tower 
Hotel. 

    2.  The bar will be open at 1830 and dinner will be served 
at 1930.  Dancing to Jimmy Vaughn's orchestra will begin at 2100. 

    3.  Ladies dress will be formal. 

    4.  It is the general policy of this headquarters that all 
Officers attend and family members are cordially invited. 

    5.  It is expected that every Officer will bring his own liquor 
in order to prevent a shortage. 

    6.  This notice will be posted on the Squadron bulletin board and 
the attached signature sheet will be returned to Lt. Hough at Group 
Headquarters on Thursday, May 20. 

    7.  Officers will sign opposite their names on the attached sheet 
and will indicate the number of plates they wish reserved.
