Description: Evidence of the bitterness of this air attack was very prominent among our own combat crews. Of the six crews participating in the afternoon mission, six members returned with wounds. Lts Rooney, Sommers and Conte; and S/Sgts McCleary, DiNapoli and Stephens received the Purple Heart for wounds sustained on this mission.
