Notes:
Sgt Robert L. Cochran was killed in action when he was struck by flak while on an operational mission near Bruz, France. F/O Robert T. Byrne, Jr., pilot, made an emergency landing at Strip A-14 in an effort to obtain immmediate medical attention for the gunner.

Description:
Flight Officer R.T. Byrne was forced down on the beach-head. One of his gunners, Sergeant Ralph L. Cochran was killed by flak. He was buried in the Monarch Cemetery at Blosville, France.
